Women's T/F Set To Defend Colonial Relays Title

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's track and field team's outdoor season continues at the 2017 Colonial Relays. The Scarlet Knights captured the 2016 team crown and have won three team titles at the event since 2013.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Scarlet Knights kicked off the 2017 outdoor season with 17 top 10 performance at the USF Bulls Invitational.
Junior Bria Saunders led the way in taking home the 200m title, while runner-up performances were captured by sophomore Phyllis Gordon in the 400m, fifth-year senior Paige Senatore in the 1500m and senior Katherine Johnston in the javelin.
LAST TIME AT COLONIAL RELAYS:
Rutgers claimed the team title in the 60-team field behind five event victories, including a triple jump title by senior Bryanna Grant and the 10,000m crown going to sophomore Allyson Black. Top times were also ran by two of the relay squads in the 4x100m and 4x200m.
Also scoring for the Scarlet Knights on the track were sophomore Phyllis Gordon in the 200m, fifth-year senior Paige Senatore in the 3000m, junior Sabrina Alexander in the 100m hurdles, in addition to points picked up by the 4x400m, 4x800m, 4x1500m, distance medley and sprint medley relay teams. Rutgers also had a top five performance by sophomore Halia Rosemond, who placed fourth in the university division of the discus.

The Rutgers women's outdoor track and field team travels to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Tennessee Dogwood Relays on April 6-8.
