4x200m Relay Takes First at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - A first place finish by the 4x200m relay team and runner-up performances by Rhonda Rogombe in the high jump and Katherine Johnston in the javelin highlighted the Rutgers women's track and field results at the Colonial Relays this weekend hosted by William & Mary.
The Scarlet Knights placed fifth overall in the 45-team field having collected 46 points. Bucknell captured the 2017 team championship with 65 points followed by Norfolk State in second with 64 points and Duquesne in third with 58 points.
All together the Scarlet Knights earned five ECAC qualifying finishes.
A trio of RU's relay teams placed in the top four led by the first place 4x200m squad. The team consisting of Imani Beauliere, Phyllis Gordon, Oksana Sokolova, and Bria Saunders collected a time of 1:37.65.
The 4x100m relay team, which featured Nabiya Garrett, Gordon, Beauliere and Saunders, took third in an ECAC qualifying time of 47.07. The 4x400m relay team, meanwhile, took fourth with Sokolova, Saunders, Garrett and Sarah Robbie racing to an ECAC time of 3:49.62.
Also posting an ECAC qualifying time on the track was Paige Senatore in the 3000m with a finish line time of 9:55.82.
In the javelin, Johnston was a runner-up for the second-straight meet. She reached an ECAC distance of 42.20, (138' 5").
Rogombe, meanwhile, returned to action in the high jump to clear the bar at a height of 1.75m (5' 8.75").
The Rutgers women's outdoor track and field team returns to action next week at the Tennessee Dogwood Relays.
