KNOXVILLE, TENN. - Senior Sarah Robbie set a new PR in the 800m while three other Scarlet Knights captured top five finishes to highlight the Rutgers women's track and field results at the Tennessee Dogwood Relays this weekend.
Robbie ran a time of 2:09.59 in the 800m for a new PR. The Marlton, New Jersey native, who placed fifth in the field, reset her previous best of 2:09.76 set in her All-East performance at the ECAC Indoor Championships in March.
Junior Bria Saunders captured top five performances in the 100m and 200m. Saunders posted a time of 11.72 in the 100m and nearly set a PR in her 200m appearance. The Parsippany, New Jersey product crossed the finish line in 23.76 in the 200m, only .02 seconds off her career top time.
Two Scarlet Knights recorded top five placements in the field events.
Sophomore Rhonda Rogombe and senior Katherine Johnston both took fourth in the high jump and javelin respectively. Rogombe cleared the bar at 1.65m (5' 5"), while Johnston threw for a distance of 42.84m (140' 7").
The Rutgers women's track and field team will play host for the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships for the second-straight year. The meet will be held April 14-15 at the Bauer Track and Field Complex.
