Know Your Knights: Miles Hackett

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - One of the veteran members of the Rutgers men's soccer team, a healthy Miles Hackett returns to the pitch for the 2017 season.
A year ago, the Montclair, New Jersey native appeared in only three games before being sidelined with injury, but is now ready to make an impact on this season, During RU's opening weekend, Hackett returned to the starting line-up against No. 2 and national runner-up Wake Forest.
As a sophomore, Hackett was a key component of the Scarlet Knight roster that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2015. Registering seven goals and three assists, he was responsible for the golden goal in a 1-0 victory at Michigan, captured the game-winner in the 4-2 win over Northwestern and had the assist on the game-winning goal against No. 18 Ohio State to help move RU into first place in the Big Ten late in the season.
During his freshman campaign in 2014, the midfielder appeared in 17 games, including five starts, As a rookie, Hackett recorded a pair of helpers against Lafayette and Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament.
Before arriving "On The Banks", Hackett led South Kent, a team listed among StudentSports.com Prep School's Top 10, to its sixth New England Championship in the span of eight years and its fifth Class B title over the course of six seasons. Prior to playing at South Kent, he was a standout at Montclair Kimberley Academy, where he totaled 51 points in his career coming from 39 goals and 17 assists and captured the 2012 NJSIAA Non-Public Championship.
