Women’s Golf 7th at Lady Blue Hen

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Women's golf is seventh with a 598 (296-302) total after the first two rounds of the 12-team Lady Blue Hen Invitational, played Saturday at Rehoboth Beach Country Club. Multiple Scarlet Knights are among the top 20 in the 71-player field entering Sunday's final round on the par 71, 5,932-yard course.
Junior co-captain Ana Cortes, competing individually, turned-in Rutgers' top performance on day one. Tied for 12th with a 147 (75-72), she is even on par three holes, while tallying four birdies and 26 pars.
Freshman Maeve Rossi, playing in first position for the fifth time in as many events, is tied for 15th with a 148 (72-76). She is joined near the top of the leaderboard by junior Carrie-Ann Lee, who is tied for 18th with a 149 (76-73). Rossi is minus one on par fives and has six birdies. Lee has registered 26 pars through 36 holes.
Sophomore Harriet Allsebrook, graduate co-captain Ashleigh Greenham and sophomore Lori Char complete the Scarlet Knights' scorecard in their final tournament of the fall season. Allsebrook is tied for 25th with a 150 (74-76), Greenham is tied for 30th with a 151 (74-77) and Char is tied for 40th with a 153 (76-77).
Fourth after the opening round, Rutgers dropped in the afternoon standings, but remains within striking distance of another strong finish. The Scarlet Knights are within 10 strokes of third place Georgetown and lead five Universities. Seton Hall is first with a 580 (287-293), three strokes ahead of host and second place Delaware.
High Point's Sarah Kahn is atop the individual leaderboard with a two-under 140 (71-69). Three competitors are tied for 2nd at 143.
The final 18 holes will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday. Live results are available via Golfstat.
