UMass Game Moved To Aug. 30

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The 2019 season opening football matchup between Rutgers and University of Massachusetts will be moved to Friday, Aug. 30 at HighPoint.com Stadium. The game, which was agreed to in 2017, was originally scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 31.
Rutgers and UMass will meet for the first time since 1978. The Scarlet Knights will host non-conference opponents UMass, Boston College (Sept. 21) and Liberty (Oct. 26), in addition to Big Ten games against Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio State and Michigan State.
Rutgers and UMass have faced off in four previous meetings with the all-time series tied at 2-2. The Minutemen earned wins in 1967 and 1973, while the Scarlet Knights picked up victories in 1976 and 1978.
