Clarke Named B1G Sportsmanship Honoree

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior Oniesha Clarke was named the Rutgers recipient of the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Sportsmanship Award, it was announced on Tuesday by the conference office.
The Big Ten Conference office recognizes student-athletes from each team as Sportsmanship Award Honorees. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In addition, the student-athletes must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
Clarke led the Scarlet Knights at the championship with a fourth place finish in the 60m in 7.44 after posting a PR and the third fastest time in the Rutgers record books with a 7.43 in the preliminaries the day before.
Additionally, the Waterbury, Connecticut native participated in the long jump reaching a distance of 5.46m (17' 11").
Earlier this season, the junior Scarlet Knight won Metropolitan Indoor Championship titles in the 60m and long jump.
