Fifth-Year Senior Bryanna Grant Resets Outdoor Best For Third Time This Spring
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Fifth-year senior Bryanna Grant reset her outdoor best in the triple jump for a third time this season and juniors Oniesha Clarke and Ariel Strunkey posted new PRs in the 100m to highlight the Rutgers women's outdoor track and field appearance at the 51st running of the Tennessee Relays this weekend.
Grant reached a distance of 12.50m to place 11th in the triple jump field. The Cranford, New Jersey native bested her previous outdoor top distance of 12.41m (40' 8.75") set at the Bulls Invitational in late March.
Meanwhile in the 100m, Clarke raced to a time of 11.72 and Strunkey clocked in at 12.01 for new personal bests.
In the 3000m steeplechase, RU record holder Lou Mialhe took fifth with a time of 11:23.92 and was followed by freshman Kaitlyn Bragen in sixth place in 12:38.35.
The Scarlet Knights also saw sophomore Selena Thorne tie for seventh in clearing the bar at a height of 1.60m (5' 3") in the high jump.
The Rutgers women's outdoor track and field squad will return to action on April 20-21 at the Virginia Challenge host by UVA in Charlottesville and the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton.
