PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's outdoor track and field team will be heading to Princeton's Weaver Stadium this weekend as one of over 100 collegiate teams competing at the annual Larry Ellis Invitational.
A LOOK AT THE FIELD
Oniesha Clarke will compete in both the long jump on Friday and 100m on Saturday, two events where the junior Scarlet Knight is 10th in the Big Ten, as well at the 200m on Saturday. Last weekend at the Tennessee Relays, Clarke posted a new PR in the 100m with a time of 11.72. Her last appearance at Weaver Stadium saw her produce a PR in the long jump as she leapt to 6.07m (19' 11") in capturing the Sam Howell Invitational title.
Freshman Kiera Nealon, who won the unseeded section of the 5000m in Princeton at the Sam Howell, will race in the same event, but moves up to the seeded sectional on Friday.
Last weekend saw Rutgers steeplechase record holder Lou Mialhe take fifth in the event in Knoxville. The redshirt freshman sets her sights on the Weaver Stadium course on Friday.
Bryanna Grant takes flight in the triple jump on Saturday coming off an outdoor best of 12.50m (41' 0.25"). The mark was the third time in 2018 that the fifth-year Scarlet Knight set a new outdoor PR. 23.
Alexandra Juzwiak will compete in the 1500m on Saturday. Last season at the Larry Ellis Invitational, she competed in the 3000m and established a then-PR of 10:19.50, which she surpassed by nearly 17 seconds at the Valentine's Invitational during this year's indoor campaign. Earlier this season, the senior Scarlet Knight made an appearance at Weaver Stadium at the Sam Howell Invitational, where she logged a fourth place performance in the 5000m with a PR of 17:47.73.
Additionally, sophomore Lynnea Davis, who reached the finals of the 100m hurdles at the Sam Howell earlier this month, will look to do the same on Saturday in the event.
RU's high jumpers will also be in action on Saturday. Their last appearance at Princeton saw redshirt sophomore Rhonda Rogombe take second, freshman Courteney Campbell place third and sophomore Selena Thorne land in fifth. Rogombe currently ranked 11th in the Big Ten with a height of 1.73m (5' 8") from March's Bulls Invitational, while Campbell is right behind in 12th with a 1.70m (5' 7") jump at the Yellow Jacket Invitational from mid-March.
