Men's Track and Field Concludes Weekend at Larry Ellis Invitational and Virginia Challenge

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's track and field concluded its weekend at both the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton and the Virginia Challenge at UVA.
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
In the 400m hurdles, freshman Boaz Madeus finished third with a time of 52.67.
Freshman Taj Burgess clocked a time of 21.32 in the 200m, finishing sixth in the event. Senior Zo Aris followed with a time of 21.88.
The 4x400 relay team consisting of senior Jermaine Griffith, Aris, Madeus, and junior Izaiah Brown posted a runner-up time of 3:08.36 in the event.
In the long jump, freshman Malachi Davis recorded a leap of 6.80m (22' 3.75"), finishing seventh in the field. In the long jump invite event, junior Jairus Paul also posted a mark of 6.80m (22' 3.75").
Sophomore Michael Thomas finished third in the javelin with a mark of 60.21m (197' 6"), while classmate Greg Harnett tossed a result of 60.19m (197' 6") in the javelin invite.
LARRY ELLIS INVITATIONAL
Freshman Edwyn Pierre finished fourth in the 110m hurdles, clocking a 14.59. Additionally, Pierre posted a time of 55.40 in the 400m hurdles.
Junior Luke Wiley finished third in the 1500m with a time of 3:55.95. Freshman Patrick Walsh (4.00.55), junior Conor Murphy (4:07.92), and senior Trent Brinkofski (4:10.85) also represented RU in the event.
In the 800m, sophomore Sean Martinek led the Scarlet Knights with a result of 1:54.27 followed by classmate Jared Skalski with a time of 1:55.67. Freshman Eric Barnes also clocked a time of 1:57.62 in the race.
