PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's track and field team is set to compete this weekend at the historic Penn Relays at Franklin Field marking the final meet before the Scarlet Knights compete at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships.
LAST TIME AT PENN RELAYS
At last year's running of the Penn Relays, three Rutgers relay entries captured their best times of the season and the Scarlet Knights garnered top 10 results in the high jump and javelin as well.
The 4x800m team which featured current Scarlet Knights Jenna Sobieski, Sarah Robbie and Brianna Haspel took sixth in a time of 8:59.09. The Scarlet Knight quartet knocked off over 14 seconds from their previous top time of the season of 8:13.92 set at the Tennessee Relays.
The sprint medley relay squad bested their previous top time by nearly 24 seconds. The group of Oksana Sokolova, Bria Saunders, Phyllis Gordon and Robbie logged a time of 3:54.52 to take eighth. The Scarlet Knights topped their previous top performance of the year of 4:18.02 from the Colonial Relays.
The distance medley relay featuring Gordon and Haspel along with former Scarlet Knights Kaitlyn Bedard and Paige Senatore, meanwhile, collected a time of 11:53.91 to take 13th.
