Joseph Selected in Sixth Round of NFL Draft by Los Angeles Rams

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football senior Sebastian Joseph was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft as the No. 195 overall pick. Joseph is the second Scarlet Knight drafted in as many days, as Kemoko Turay was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round with the No. 52 selection on Friday night. Rutgers has now had two or more selections in the NFL Draft in three of the last six years, totaling 12 in that span. 

Joseph started all 12 games at nose tackle this season and finished his career playing in 49 consecutive games and 50 overall. The defensive lineman totaled 41 tackles as a senior with a career-high seven in the win over Maryland. He also had 4.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks, one pass batted down, one forced fumble, one blocked field goal, was a candidate for the AFCA Good Works Team and earned honorable mention All-Big Ten. Joseph was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and the program's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.

Joseph totaled 97 tackles during his career "On the Banks" along with 14.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two passes batted down and two forced fumbles. In the classroom, Joseph was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
