
Lee Named Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honoree

Cochrane, Jacobs, Lee collect team awards
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior Chloe Lee was named Rutgers' Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient, the conference announced Thursday.
Lee capped her four-year career "On the Banks" with a singles victory at the No. 2 spot against Indiana on Senior Day. Overall, she collected seven singles victories and contributed to five doubles wins in 2018.
The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native made an immediate impact when she arrived her freshmen season by leading the team in singles victories in the program's inaugural year in the Big Ten. She continued to guide the program over the years, including being named captain of the squad.
The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and three-time ITA Academic All-American was inducted into the Delta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma Society, the first national scholar-athlete society to honor collegiate student-athlete. Lee will graduate with a degree in Material Science and Engineering. Additionally, Lee served as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Additionally, sophomore Jaci Cochrane was voted this year's MVP. The Fort Dodge, Iowa, native led the team with 11 singles victories on the season and contributed to 10 doubles wins.
Freshman Maya Jacobs earned the Grit Award, which is presented to the person who demonstrates hard work in all training and competitions. Jacobs collected eight singles victories in her rookie season, including two against ranked Big Ten opponents.
Lee picked up the team's Red and Black Award, awarded to the person who continues to lift the team up with their positive RU spirit.
