Women's T/F Honored As USTFCCCA Academic Team

The Rutgers women's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team for the 2017-18 season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), it was announced on Thursday.
To qualify for the team award, schools must attain at least a 3.00 cumulative team grade point average. The Scarlet Knights achieved a 3.32 grade point average for the academic year.
In all, 17 Scarlet Knights were named Big Ten All-Academic honorees, while nine members of the program were bestowed Distinguished All-Big Ten accolades for grade-point averages over a 3.7 for the 2017-18 academic year. Among the honorees, graduate student Sarah Robbie, seniors Imani Beauliere, Allyson Black, Alexandra Juzwiak and Bria Saunders, and sophomore Lynnea Davis each carried perfect 4.0 GPAs last season.
In addition to their success in the classroom, the Scarlet Knight's women's track and field program also had a number of notable athletic achievements as well.
During the indoor season, junior Oneisha Clarke qualified for the finals of the 60m at the Big Ten Championships where she placed fourth. During preliminary racing, the Waterbury, Connecticut product captured a time of 7.44, marking the third fastest time in the Rutgers record books. Clarke also brought home two titles at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships. Along with Clarke's first place finishes in the 60m and long jump, fifth-year senior Bryanna Grant captured the triple jump crown for the third consecutive season and freshman Courteney Campbell brought home the high jump title.
The outdoor season saw a pair of Scarlet Knights qualify for the NCAA Regionals and a new school record in two events. Grant, who made her first regional appearance in the triple jump, placed fifth at the Big Ten Outdoor Championship with a new school record of 12.80m (42' 0"). Redshirt sophomore Rhonda Rogombe, meanwhile, made her second appearance at NCAA regionals in the high jump. Clarke was also a Big Ten scorer again, qualifying for 100m finals in 11.59 for the third fastest time in the RU record books and ultimately placed seventh in the finals. Additionally, redshirt freshman Lou Mialhe broke the steeplechase record twice during the 2018 outdoor campaign.
