Sep 05 | Football, General
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football will once again have a heavy presence in the National Football League in 2018 when it begins play this Thursday, as 18 Scarlet Knights made regular-season rosters heading into Week 1. Scarlet Knights also made a huge impact on the league last fall. Former Rutgers football players accounted for 19 touchdowns in 2017, as Tyler Kroft (7), Mohamed Sanu (6), Brandon Coleman (3), Kenny Britt (2) and Jason McCourty (1) all found the back of the end zone. Three former players - Britt, Duron Harmon and Devin McCourty - competed in Super Bowl LII for the New England Patriots, while eight advanced to the 2017 NFL Playoffs. Clark Harris, who played at Rutgers from 2002-06, was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2018 at long snapper as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.
