PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's basketball team is back to Big Ten action as the Scarlet Knights welcome the Lady Lions for the first of two meetings between the squads on Sunday at the RAC. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.

BACK TO THE B1G TIME
The Rutgers women's basketball team is back to Big Ten action from here on out and welcome the Penn State Lady Lions to the RAC on Sunday afternoon.
RU closed out nonconference action on Friday winning its seventh-straight home game and going 8-3 in non-Big Ten play with a 73-52 win over Brown.
The Scarlet Knights were led by redshirt senior forward Stasha Carey's second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, freshman Noga Peleg Pelc's game-leading 19 points from off the bench and Jordan Wallace's career-high 12 points.
Rutgers once again dominated the boards outhauling the Bears, 44-25, dished the ball out a season-high 21 times, attempted a season-high 30 shots from beyond the arc and committed a season-low 12 turnovers.
RU finished with an unblemished nonconference mark at home for the second-straight season and over the last two years has gone 14-0 the last two years.
ABOUT PENN STATE
Sunday marks the first of two meetings between the Scarlet Knights and Lady Lions. Penn State arrives at the RAC at 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten.
The Lady Lions opened conference play in a tight contest with No. 4/4 Maryland back on Dec. 28. Penn State was out in front until the fourth quarter where the Terps outscored the Lady Lions 21-4 to pull out the 77-61 win.
Penn State also dropped an 83-75 decision at 2018 WNIT Champion Indiana on New Year's Eve. The Hoosiers held only a one-point advantage entering the final frame before a late surge gave Indiana the win.
PSU rebounded on Thursday with a 71-64 home win over Wisconsin, this time being the team with the late push and limiting the Badgers to 4-of-15 shooting in the final quarter.
On the stat sheet, the Lady Lions have four averaging double figures led by senior guard Teniya Page with a Big Ten second-best 20.6 points per game.
Page is followed by sophomore guard Kamaria McDaniel at 11.8 points and junior guard Siyeh Frazier at 10.8 points per contest. Sophomore forward Alisia Smith, meanwhile, is dropping in 10.1 points per outing to go along with a team-leading 7.3 boards per game.
LAST TIME VS. PENN STATE
Despite a late fourth quarter rally, the No. 25/21 Rutgers women's basketball team fell short on the road at Penn State dropping a 70-67 contest back on Jan. 28, 2018.
The Scarlet Knights reclaimed the lead with 39 seconds left in the game, but the Lady Lions were able to escape with the win as Teniya Page connected on 4-of-5 from the line for the final margin. Following a timeout, Rutgers advanced the ball with one second on the clock as redshirt senior Tyler Scaife threw up a desperation 3-pointer that hit the rim, but did not make its target.
Stasha Carey posted her third double-double of the season and second-straight with 11 rebounds and 10 points. Khadaizha Sanders led the RU scorers with 14 points. Scaife added in 10 points with eight coming in the fourth quarter. Caitlin Jenkins also recorded 11 rebounds in the loss.
Penn State was led by Page with a game-high 34 points. Jaida Travascio-Green netted 15 points, while Amari Carter contributed 10 points to round out the Lady Lion double-figure scorers.
A LOSS IS STILL A LOSS, BUT...
RU's first loss of the season was to a Drake squad that sits at 9-4 overall and has appeared in the Top 25 this season. The Bulldogs posted a victory over then No. 12/13 South Carolina to take third place at the Vancouver Showcase.
Gonzaga sits at No. 17/18 in the polls including a 79-73 win over then-No. 11 Stanford. The Bulldogs are 14-1 on the season with the lone loss coming against defending national champion Notre Dame at the Vancouver Challenge.
Virginia Tech is 13-1 and cracked the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll Top 25 this week at No. 25.
