
Women's Basketball Drops Final Regular Season Game at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Rutgers women's basketball (9-20, 1-17 B1G) couldn't get past Nebraska (18-11, 7-11 B1G) in its final regular season game of the 2025-26 season, falling 93-52, on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Zachara Perkins paced the Scarlet Knights with a career-high 23 points while Kaylah Ivey (15) and Nene Ndiaye (10) also reached double figures.
How it Happened
- Zachara Perkins put Rutgers on the board with a contested layup on its first possession. Nebraska followed up at 7:52 to even the score.
- The Cornhuskers kept it going with a 9-0 run to force the first timeout from the Scarlet Knights at 5:43, 9-2.
- Nene Ndiaye recorded a three-point play out of the break before another layup from Perkins to put the contest within two, 9-7.
- The Huskers responded with six consecutive points to extend their edge back, 15-7. However, RU stayed productive on offense with back-to-back threes from Nene Ndiaye and Kaylah Ivey with just under two minutes to play.
- The home team ended the opening quarter on a 9-3 run, despite a three-point play from Perkins, to stay ahead, 24-16.
- Janae Walker and Ivey combined for five points to start off the second period, but the Cornhuskers came back with 12 in a row, to stay up, 36-21, before another Rutgers timeout at 6:03.
- Perkins put an end to the stretch with a basket after the break, but the opponent came back with six more points to keep the 42-23 lead with 3:40 to go.
- Ivey hit her third three of the game, and Perkins kept it going with another layup, but the Huskers hit one more deep shot before halftime, going into the locker room up, 45-28.
- Nebraska started off the third quarter with another five points, until a Nene Ndiaye layup got RU going. The opponent netted six more points, before put ups from Walker and Nene Ndiaye, to stay in control at the 5:42 media timeout, 56-34.
- The Cornhuskers went on another 13-0 run, but Antonia Bated hit a shot at the line before a timeout from the home team at 2:24, 69-35.
- Both teams added free throws in the final two minutes of play, but Ivey hit aa shot from beyond the arc compared to a layup from Nebraska in the final moments. The opposition still took the 75-40 advantage into the final 10 minutes.
- Nebraska scored the first points of the quarter at 7:25, going onto net six consecutive points. However, Ivey and Perkins matched the points with consecutive three-pointers. The home team recorded one more layup before the 3:53 media timeout to stay in control, 83-46.
- Despite another basket for the Huskers, Makylah Moore and Perkins combined for four points.
- Nebraska added two more deep shots and a layup in the final moments but Perkins scored the final points for the Scarlet Knights with a layup. The opponent still came out with the 93-52 victory.
Knights Notes
- Zachara Perkins paced Rutgers with a career best 23 points. She has led the team in scoring seven times and hit double figures in 18 outings.
- Kaylah Ivey ended with 15 points, her 13th outing with 10 or more points.
- Ivey also recorded five three-pointers for the third time this season to match her season high. She has hit multiple deep shots in 18 outing this slate.
- With 10 points, Nene Ndiaye has reached double figure points in a team-leading 22 games this season.
