
Cross Country Set for 2019 Big Ten Championships on Sunday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's and women's cross country are set to compete at the 2019 Big Ten Championships on Sunday, Nov. 3 hosted at Ohio State. The men's 8K is slated for a 10:45 a.m. ET start followed by the women's 6K at 11:45 a.m. at the Ohio State University Golf Course in Columbus.

For those planning to attend, admission to the championships is free to the general public. While there is some parking on-site, visitors are encouraged to use the overflow parking lots (Buckeye Lots 1-5 – also known as B1-B5) at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute (2835 Fred Taylor Drive).
Shuttles will run from the Buckeye Lot 4 (B4) every 15 minutes from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (ET) to the Ohio State University Golf Club.
SCOUTING RUTGERS WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Junior Olympia Martin and senior Stephanie Mauer produced the most top finishes for the Scarlet Knights this season. Martin finished first for RU in three races with Mauer pacing the lineup in the fourth.
The season was highlighted by the Scarlet Knights' 2019 Metropolitan Championship title, registering three top 10 finishes to place first overall in the nine-team field. Martin produced a runner-up finish at the 5K race with a PR time of 18:19.5, earning Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for her performance.
In the team's most recent time out, Mauer clocked a 6K time of 22:23.8 to lead RU at the Princeton Invitational. Seniors Emma Bergman, Lou Mialhe and Nadia Saponara have been strong performers and leaders for RU this season.
SCOUTING RUTGERS MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Senior Cole Pschunder has paced the Scarlet Knights in four meets this season, having led the group at the Ohio State Invitational with a time of 25:31.8. The Invite was hosted at the same location as this year's championship.
Pschunder also led RU to a third-place finish at the Metropolitan Championships, finishing fourth in the race with a time of 26:08.3. Sophomore Patrick Walsh finished first for Rutgers at the Princeton Invitational with a result of 24:42.0, crossing the line 28th out of the 235-person field.
Senior Andrew Comito and junior Billy Hill have also guided the team with strong finishes and leadership this season. Overall, Rutgers finished as a team in the top 3 in three of its five races.
