Homecoming vs. Minnesota Set for 3:30 p.m. Start

Scarlet Knights to celebrate the 1940, 1950s & 1960s

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football's 86th annual Homecoming game against Minnesota will start at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 and broadcast on Big Ten Network, the Big Ten announced Monday. The Scarlet Knights are 53-31-1 in Homecoming games, a tradition that dates back every season to 1933 except 1943.

As part of the year-long celebration of the 150th anniversary of the first college football game played, the week will celebrate the 1940, 1950s & 1960s. In addition, the newest members of the Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame will be recognized at SHI Stadium: 1919-1920 men's basketball team, the 1981 men's track & field two mile relay team, Todd Frazier (baseball), Fred Gruninger (athletic administrator) and Greg Rinaldi (men's lacrosse).

This will mark Minnesota's first trip to Piscataway, the final Big Ten team to make their initial visit to Rutgers. The only other meeting between the programs was a 34-32 win for the Golden Gophers in 2016 in Minneapolis.
