Mulqueen Inducted into Manhattan College Hall of Fame

Mulqueen, a 1976 graduate of Manhattan, was a member of the 1973 NCAA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championship team and was one of the Jaspers' top hurdlers during his career. He specialized in the 400 hurdles, earning four varsity letters with the Jaspers and a B.A. in English from the College.
A six-time conference coach of the year and five-time NCAA District Coach of the Year, Mulqueen is in his 38th season as the head coach of the Rutgers men's track and field and cross country teams and his 41st season overall at the University in 2018-19. This season, Mulqueen guided two Big Ten champions, four total Big Ten medals, 11 NCAA qualifiers, and two All-Americans. On the cross country side this past fall, RU saw its first All-Region runner since 1989.
As a team, the program won its fifth straight Metropolitan Indoor title, third straight Metropolitan Outdoor title, and finished as runner-ups at the IC4A Indoor Championships under Mulqueen's leadership in 2018-19.
Mulqueen has achieved a number of milestones during his decorated career as the head of the Scarlet Knights, which includes 29 Metropolitan team championships, 52 All-Americans, 319 Metropolitan Champions, 62 IC4A Champions, 12 Big Ten Champions, 434 All-East selections, and a BIG EAST team title in 2005.
Mulqueen's cross country and track and field teams have placed in the top five at the BIG EAST Championship 20 times, won 22 Metropolitan Championships and placed in the top three on 50 other occasions. He has seen his teams place among the top 10 in the IC4A 20 times.
