SCOUTING RUTGERS
Rutgers fell to Michigan State, 27-0, most recently at SHI Stadium. The defense had three stops in the red zone, including an interception in the end zone by redshirt freshman Deion Jennings off a pass breakup by sophomore Tim Barrow. Before the game, the program honored its 13-member senior class.

Redshirt freshman Johnny Langan is up to 1,009 yards of total offense (676 passing, 333 rushing) and has accounted for seven touchdowns (four passing, three rushing) in seven starts. The 333 rushing yards are the most in a season by a Rutgers quarterback since since Bruce Van Ness, a member of the Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame, had 389 in 1967. Also in the run game, sophomore Isaih Pacheco ranks 10th in the Big Ten with 62.7 rushing yards per game. Junior Bo Melton paces the team with 375 receiving yards with at least one reception in all 11 games this year.

Defensively, junior Tyshon Fogg sits third in the league with 8.7 tackles per game, owning 96 overall. The linebacker aims to make it 10 consecutive seasons a Scarlet Knight reaches triple digits. Senior Damon Hayes brings 31 career passes defended (25 breakups, six interceptions) into his final collegiate game.

Junior Adam Korsak, one of 10 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award, has helped Rutgers sit atop the Big Ten with a net punt average of 41.83 yards with 30 pinned inside the 20-yard line, 18 inside the 10 and nine inside the 5 with only one touchback this season. Junior Justin Davidovicz has made his last four field goals and is 14-for-15 in his career on attempts inside 40 yards.

SCOUTING PENN STATE
The Nittany Lions are 6-0 at Beaver Stadium this season, but dropped their most recent road game at No. 2 Ohio State, 28-17, last Saturday. PSU's defense ranks fourth in the nation with 89.8 rushing yards permitted per game. Yetur Gross-Matos owns 8.5 sacks on the season, while Tariq Castro-Fields has eight pass breakups and two interceptions. On offense, Journey Brown has scored eight touchdowns (seven rushing, one receiving). Quarterback Sean Clifford is 178-for-299 passing with 22 touchdowns.

Head coach James Franklin is in his sixth season leading the program.

RU: FBALL at Penn State
THE SERIES
Rutgers and Penn State will meet for the sixth time in a Big Ten contest, 18th time in Pennsylvania and for the 30th meeting overall. RU has played PSU more in its history than any other Big Ten opponent. The series began 101 years ago on Nov. 9, 1918 with a 26-3 Rutgers victory at Penn State. The programs played annually from 1982 until 1995.

Rutgers will be looking to snap a 12-game losing streak in the series, last winning at Beaver Stadium in 1988, 21-16. Mike Botti ran for a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter and the defense clinched the game with a goal-line stand to beat the 15th-ranked Nittany Lions.

In the last meeting at Beaver Stadium in 2017, Rutgers took a 6-0 lead in the second quarter on two field goals before Penn State, who was ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No. 14 in the College Football Playoff poll, posted five unanswered touchdowns to win, 35-6. The Scarlet Knights had more rushing yards, 157-90, and recovered a live ball off the opening kickoff to lead to a field goal.
