PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior Adam Korsak of the Rutgers football team added to his collection of 2019 honors by earning a spot on the Associated Press All-Big Ten Second Team, which was released Wednesday. Korsak previously claimed distinction as a Ray Guy Award semifinalist plus being a second (coach) and third (media) team All-Big Ten selection.
 
Piloted by Korsak, Rutgers' punt unit led the Big Ten and ranked No. 17 nationally with a net of 41.5 yards per attempt. The mark reset the school record for the second-straight year. Korsak averaged 43.8 yards, third in program history, on 76 attempts overall with 31 downed inside the 20, 18 inside the 10 and nine inside the 5 with only two touchbacks. In addition, he booted 12 at least 50 yards, three at least 60 yards and forced 33 fair catches.
 
Korsak garnered the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week three times in 2019. He first won the national honor after averaging 47.6 yards on 10 attempts with a net of 46.5 at No. 20 Iowa. The performance was highlighted with seven punts downed inside the 20, five inside the 10 and four inside the 5. That included a season-long 69-yarder, tied for the seventh-longest in program history, that settled at the 1. Then against Boston College, he nailed all five kicks inside the 20 to win the award again. Korsak later downed punts at the 1, 2 and 3 at Indiana with an average of 46.3 yards and a long of 68 to take the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for the third time.

Korsak was also recognized Wednesday as Academic All-Big Ten.
