Fogg Claims Spot on All-ECAC Defense

Junior linebacker ranked third in the Big Ten with 104 tackles
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior Tyshon Fogg of the Rutgers football team was named All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defense in the Division I FBS awards announced by the organization on Wednesday. Fogg becomes the first Scarlet Knight to earn the distinction since 2012.
Starting all 12 games at middle linebacker, Fogg led the team and ranked third in the Big Ten with 104 tackles, averaging 8.7 per game. He had a team-high 83 stops against the run with four tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks. The Maryland native reached at least 11 stops five times with a high of 15 versus Boston College, pacing the team in tackles six times.
Fogg served as a team captain in 2019 and previously garnered honorable mention All-Big Ten in the both the coach and media vote. He is also a two-time Academic Big Ten honoree and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
Fogg is one of 12 student-athletes and four linebackers from across the region to claim a spot on the All-ECAC Defense. The previous Scarlet Knights to collect All-East status were Khaseem Greene, Logan Ryan and Scott Vallone in 2012.
