Jenna Sobieski captured the second fastest 800m time in the Rutgers record books and classmate
Oniesha Clarke made her second-straight 60m finals appearance to highlight the Scarlet Knight women's track and field team's appearance at the 2019 Big Ten Championships hosted by Michigan this weekend.
Sobieski qualified for the 800m finals on Friday with a seventh place finish in the preliminaries and a PR of 2:08.10.
The Old Bridge, New Jersey product bettered the mark in Saturday's finals with a time of 2:07.73 to finish in sixth place. The mark was the second fastest time in the Rutgers record books and was .67 seconds behind the Scarlet Knight benchmark set by Jennifer Heggie at the 1994 NCAA Championships.
Clarke, meanwhile, raced in the 60m finals for the second-straight season and finished in eighth place with a time of 7.60.
The Rutgers women's indoor track and field team returns to action at the ECAC Championships held March 1-3 in Boston.
