Box Score PISCATAWAY, N.J.– Rutgers tennis fell to Minnesota in a 6-1 match at home on Friday afternoon. The Scarlet Knights were able to capture one singles victory after an intense third set. 
               
Rutgers now drops to a 6-4 record overall and a 1-2 record in the Big Ten, while Minnesota advances their records to 8-6 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten. 
 
DOUBLES PLAY
The Golden Gophers secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, giving them an early edge in the match. 
 
SINGLES PLAY
During single play, freshman Tess Fisher forced her opponent Tiffany Huber into an intense third set won the Scarlet Knights lone point of the day. After an intense rally, Fisher came out with a 12-10 set score. 
 
Freshman Kristiana Zahare also took her opponent into a third set after two exciting sets. In her first set against River Hart, Zahare dropped 7-6 after a tight 7-5 tie breaker. Junior Jaci Cochrane kept Cammy Frei on her toes with close 7-5 and 7-6 sets.

The Scarlet Knights will host the Badgers of Wisconsin on Sunday, March 17 at 12:30 p.m. at the East Brunswick Tennis Club.

On today's match:Minnesota came out and played well today. We dealt with the adversity of being outside well on some courts, but we're still looking to capitalize on our big points, and we need to get a little tougher. We're looking forward to playing Wisconsin and heading back inside on Sunday.

On today's match: I think overall, we had a lot of energy and that really helps everyone on the team. It really helped me today, because hearing other people be positive and have a lot of energy has an impact ultimately on everybody. We just have to keep being positive, hold our heads high, and get ready for Sunday.
