HARRISONBURG, Va. (March 16, 2019) – Rutgers softball (14-11) scored an early run, but Binghamton (5-6) took a lead and hung on for a 2-1 victory on Saturday as the Scarlet Knights split Day 2 of the JMU Invitational at Veterans Memorial Park.
QUICK PITCH
- Senior shortstop Jess Hughes led off the game with a double and ended up scoring an unearned run on a passed ball. That's all the offense would muster against Rayn Gibson, who retired a stretch of 13-of-14 Scarlet Knights during the middle innings as her offense scored a pair of runs with the help of some Rutgers defensive miscues.
STANDOUT STATS
