URBANA, ILL.  – Freshman
Sydney Kaplan recorded a singles victory for Rutgers tennis on the road at Illinois. The Scarlet Knights, however, dropped the match to the Fighting Illini, 6-1.

DOUBLES PLAY
Illinois jumped to a 1-0 lead by earning the team doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spot.

At the No. 1 spot, the duo of freshman
Tess Fisher and junior
Kat Muzik were tied at 4-4 before the Fighting Illini secured the point.

SINGLES PLAY
Kaplan rallied a three-set victory over UI's Sasha Belaya at the No. 4 position. Despite falling in the first set by a score of 6-2, Kaplan took the second set by a strong mark of 6-1 before sealing the win with a 6-3 third set margin.

At the No. 6 spot, sophomore
Isabelle Da Silva nearly pushed her match to a third set, but, ultimately, fell 6-0, 7-5 to Dani Pedraza.
