Tennis Falls to No. 58 Illinois on Senior Day

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — After an eventful day of rain and shine, Rutgers tennis unfortunately fell to No. 58 Illinois, 4-1, on Senior Day.
Doubles
The Scarlet Knights secured the doubles point on Friday afternoon.
Senior Day was off to a great start, as duo Mai Nguyen and Zuzanna Frankowska were the first to win for RU. They defeated their opponents on the third court, 6-4.
Pair Karina Jumazhanova and Zeynep Ilker soon followed suit on court four, clinching the doubles point with a 6-4 victory.
Singles
Unfortunately, no Scarlet Knights were able to claim wins in singles.
Returner Karina Jumazhanova gave it her all in an intense match, 0-6, 6-1, 3-4, but the Scarlet Knights ran out of time to complete it. Freshman Savannah Cohen also went to the third set, 2-6, 6-1, 3-2, but the match went unfinished.
