Scarlet Knights to compete at Chambers Bay beginning Monday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's golf continues its spring schedule at the Redhawk Invitational from April 1-2 in University Place, Washington. The 54-hole event, hosted by Seattle University, will be played on the par-72, 7,165-yard course at Chambers Bay.

Last Time Out
Rutgers finished eighth with an 888 (293-299-297) at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, played on the Outlaw Course at the Desert Mountain Golf Club from March 9-10 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Sophomore Christopher Gotterup tied for 13th with a 219 (77-74-68) to lead the Scarlet Knights, highlighted by a four-under-par 68 in the final round.

Gotterup carded six birdies in his final 18 holes and fired off an eagle on hole 16. Gotterup also had two eagles during the final round, co-leading the field with three eagles throughout the tournament.

Junior Tony Jiang and sophomore Oliver Whatley just missed finishing within the top-30, as both tied for 32nd. Jiang finished with a three-round 224 (74-71-79), as his weekend included a one-under-par performance in the second round with five birdies. Whatley (75-71-78=224) also came in under par in the second round with five birdies.
