Men’s Golf Returns to Familiar Rutherford Intercollegiate

Scarlet Knights to compete Saturday, Sunday in State College
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's golf continues its spring schedule at the 43rd annual Rutherford Intercollegiate from April 13-14 in College Park, Pennsylvania. The 54-hole event, hosted by Penn State, will be played on the par-71, 7,202 yard Penn State Blue Course.

Saturday, April 13: 36 holes of continuous play starting at 7:30 am. EST
Sunday, April 14: 18 holes starting at 8 a.m. EST

Rutgers competed at Redhawk Invitational from April 1-2 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington. The Scarlet Knights placed 17th with an 865 (281-288-296), as Gotterup led the way for the program with his tied-for-37th result.
Gotterup carded a one-over-par 72 in the final round, as he finished with a three-round even scorecard of 213 (70-71-72). The CBA product combined for 10 birdies and an eagle during his 54-holes of en route to his fifth top individual program finish of the 2018-19 season.
Last Time at the Rutherford
Gotterup finished tied for 14th while Whatley and then-senior Jack Panagos both carded one-over-par 72's in the final round to wrap up action at the Rutherford Intercollegiate last year in College Park.
Battling wet conditions to go along with 20 mile-per-hour wind gusts during the final 18 holes, the Scarlet Knights finished eighth as a team with a three-round total of 880 (294-290-296). The host Nittany Lions captured the team title, while West Virginia and Oakland placed second and third, respectively.
Next Time Out
Rutgers competes at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio State, from April 20-21 in Columbus.
