Tennis Adds Sydney Jones to 2019-20 Signing Class

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis has announced the signing of Sydney Jones to the 2019-20 recruiting class. Jones, a 5-star recruit out of Texas, joins the Scarlet Knights as a transfer from Texas Tech University.
"We are very excited to be adding Sydney to our team next year," said Head Coach Hilary Ritchie. "She has a lot of experience competing at a high level. I think she is going to have a big impact on our singles and doubles lineups."

Notes on Jones: In Fall 2018 at TTU, posted an 8-4 singles records and advanced to semifinals of doubles at ITA Regionals…registered a 4.0 GPA in first semester, earning a spot on the President's List…won first in doubles at the Midland Invitational in September 2018...claimed a Bronze Ball in doubles at the 2015 USTA National Open Hard Court Championships…helped win first at the 2017 USTA National Spring Team Championships...advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2018 Grade 4 ITFs in Mexico...a 5-star recruit, having been ranked as a Top 5 player in the state of Texas…ranked as high as No. 18 nationally in the Class of 2018…went undefeated in singles action at the 2017 National Fed Cup Team Championships...the 2017 San Antonio SCMZ Tournament Champion in Girls' 18 Singles-A…Honor Roll student at Laurel Springs.
