MURRAY, Ky. – Women's golf placed second with an 887 (292-298-297) total at the 15-team Jan Weaver Invitational, played Friday and Saturday at Frances E. Miller Memorial Golf Course. Three Scarlet Knights finished among the top 10 in the 97-player field for RU, which was three strokes shy of capturing its second straight tournament victory.
"The team did what I asked in grinding-out the 18 holes and fighting hard to pull together its rounds after a slow start this morning," said head coach
Kari Williams. "The course played more difficult today with more wind and faster greens, but it was a great test for us as we prepare for the toughest stretch of our schedule. We were close to achieving our goal of winning the event and fell just short by three strokes."
