PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's golf released both its 2019 fall and 2020 spring schedules. The Scarlet Knights compete in 12 events next season, including five during the fall campaign and seven in the spring.
"We are thrilled for the tournament schedule we have next season that brings back a number of familiar places along with some new trips," said head coach
Rob Shutte. "It is a schedule that has nice spacing for the student-athletes to excel in the classroom but also holds the strength of schedule when we play well for us to reach our postseason goals."
For the fourth consecutive season, RU begins fall play at the Badger Invitational (Sept. 8-10) in Madison, Wisconsin before it closes out the month at the Old Town Collegiate (Sept. 23-24) in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Two new tournaments follow in October, as Rutgers competes at the Fighting Irish Classic (Oct. 7-8) in South Bend, Indiana and the Quail Valley Collegiate (Oct. 20-21) in Greensboro, North Carolina. The fall semester concludes with the Grandover Collegiate (Oct. 27-28) in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The Scarlet Knights return to action in the spring with the Big Ten Match Play Championships (Feb. 7-8) in Palm Coast, Florida, followed by the TPC Dorado Beach Collegiate (Feb. 23-25) in Puerto Rico. March features the Colleton River Collegiate (March 2-3) in Bluffton, South Carolina, while April showcases three tournaments, including the Irish Creek Intercollegiate (April 4-5) in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Rutherford Intercollegiate (April 18-19) in State College, Pennsylvania and the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate (April 25-26) in Columbus, Ohio.
The 2020 Big Ten Championships are set for May 1-3 in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
"We're excited to get back to some familiar courses as well as compete on new courses during both the fall and spring," said rising junior
Christopher Gotterup. "I think going into my third year I will continue to learn more at place we play and hopefully it can turn into both individual and team victories. I think regionals and nationals are well within reach for this upcoming season."
