PISCATAWAY, N.J. – In response to fan feedback, Rutgers Athletics has made a number of enhancements to the game day experience in 2019, which includes the expansion of beer and wine sales and a partnership with Gourmet Dining for new food offerings beginning this fall.
When the Scarlet Knights take on UMass on Friday, Aug. 30 at SHI Stadium, fans can purchase alcohol at concession stands in general seating areas. Game day concession stands will feature a wide variety of beer and wine selections, including brands like Miller, Coors, and Dos Equis, which will be available in both the 100 & 200 sections;

State excise laws will be followed and the below policies will be among those enforced as part of a complete alcohol management plan:
- Valid I.D. is required for purchase. All guests must be at least 21 years of age to purchase an alcoholic beverage.
- There is a two alcoholic beverage limit, per person, per transaction. Selling of alcoholic beverages will cease at the end of the third (3rd) quarter of a football game.
- All Gourmet Dining management will be required to complete alcohol management training. Trained security staff will serve as alcohol monitors in venue and at points of sale.
In addition to the expansion of alcohol sales, Rutgers Athletics will also unveil updated concession stands with new signage and branding, and made improvements to address customer flow around SHI Stadium. Along with general concession items such as hot dogs, pretzels, nachos and popcorn, fans will also be treated to a number of themed options on game day, including;
- Jersey Eats (Section 104, 113, 124 & 132): Pork Roll (or is it Taylor Ham?), Egg & Cheese; Cheesesteak; Meatball Hero; Sausage & Peppers
- Absurd Bird (Section 106 & 136): Chicken Tenders & Fries; Chicken & Waffles Sandwich; Grilled Chicken Sandwich; Fried Chicken Sandwich
- Barbecue (Section 120 & 143): Pulled Pork; Loaded Tots; Mac & Cheese; Chorizo Chili
- Jersey Mikes (Section 118): Chicken & Beef Cheesesteak; Assorted Cold Subs
- Taqueria (Section 111 & 139): Beef, Chicken & Veggie Tacos; Beef, Chicken and Veggie Nachos; Cinnamon Sugar Churros
