Korsak Earns Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week

Junior punter had 7-of-10 punts downed inside the 20 at Iowa
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Following his performance at Iowa, Rutgers football junior Adam Korsak was named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week. He earned the national honor after being selected to the Ray's 8 list by the Augusta Sports Council and winning a fan vote.
Korsak, who was selected to the Ray Guy Award preseason watch list, averaged 47.6 yards on 10 attempts on Saturday, finishing with a net of 46.5. The Australian had seven punts downed inside the 20, five inside the 10 and four inside the 5. That included a season-long 69-yarder, tied for the seventh-longest in program history, that settled at the 1.
"That's really what Adam is," head coach Chris Ash said. "He's a really good punter, and he made some really good punts in critical situations to flip the field and pin them down in. That's the type of weapon he is, and I'm really proud of the way he's kicking right now."
Korsak was named honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and media in 2018 after helping Rutgers to its best net punt mark in school history at 40.1 yards in first season playing football at any level. He set the school record with a 79-yard boot versus Northwestern, with 55-of-78 punts not returned and only three touchbacks.
The Scarlet Knights return to SHI Stadium to host Boston College on Sept. 21 in a game set to start at noon ET on Big Ten Network.
