The 2019-20 athletics season began with much excitement, as the Scarlet Knights celebrate the 150th anniversary of college football as its birthplace. Prior to the football team's season-opening victory over UMass at SHI Stadium, a new "Victory" statue was unveiled and a re-enactment of the first football game between Rutgers and Princeton took place at the
Marco Battaglia Practice Complex.
Meanwhile, over at Yurcak Field, No. 23-ranked women's soccer is off to a perfect, 5-0 record, while men's soccer, under the direction of first-year head coach
Jim McElderry is also undefeated.
On the Livingston Campus, No. 19-ranked field hockey is 2-0, as the RWJBarnabas Health Athletics Performance Center is slated for its grand opening this month.
There are so many great things happening "On the Banks," all of which will be highlighted on the "Knightlife."
