PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field splits the squad for two meets this upcoming weekend of Feb. 14-15. RU will send Scarlet Knights to Arkansas' Tyson Invitational and Boston University's Dave Hemery/Valentine Invitational.
Live results for both meets will be available at the start of competition. BU's full meet can be streamed on FloTrack, while the Friday portion at Arkansas will be available on SEC Network+.
At Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational last weekend, the Scarlet Knights posted a total of seven finishes in the top-5 of their respective events. Junior Perry Christie highlighted the field events with a school-record in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.23m (7' 3.75") to claim the title. It marks the fourth Rutgers record to fall this indoor season.
Junior Taj Burgess has set the 500m record twice this year, clocking the second-fastest mark all-time in the NCAA at 1:00.73. Junior Courteney Campbell reset the high jump record at 1.80m (5' 10.75"), while freshman Claudine Smith added a triple jump record at 12.68m (41' 7.25").
Also at Notre Dame, Burgess won the 400m title with a time of 46.64. Junior Olympia Martin added a top-5 finish of her own in the mile run with a time of 4:51.95 to highlight performances on the track.
This weekend serves as a final tune up before the 2020 Big Ten Indoor Championships. The Championships are set for Feb. 28-29 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
