Perry Claims Bronze in the High Jump at the Big Ten Indoor Championships

GENEVA, OHIO – Rutgers track and field competed at the 2020 Big Ten Indoor Championships Feb. 28-29 at the SPIRE Institute. Junior Perry Christie claimed a bronze medal in the high jump to highlight five podium finishes for the Scarlet Knights.

Christie continued a strong season in the high jump, recording a mark of 2.18m (7' 1.75") to place third in the championships. Sophomore Nadale Buntin finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.11m (49' 7").
On the track, junior Taj Burgess placed fourth in the 400m with a time of 46.44, having posted the fastest overall time in prelims to advance to the finals.
Junior Courteney Campbell finished sixth in the high jump, recording a mark of 1.73m (5' 8") to earn a spot on the podium. In the triple jump, freshman Claudine Smith earned a podium finish of her own, finishing sixth with a result of 12.17m (39' 11.25").
The 4x400m relay team consisting of Ajae Alvarez-Tyler, Kayla Jackson, Mackenzie Prezume, and Reanda Richards clocked a time of 3:43.00, finishing ninth in the field to just miss the podium.
Rutgers returns to Boston for the IC4A Championships on March 7-8.
