WEST ORANGE, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team used a four-run fifth inning in a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Seton Hall at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field on Tuesday afternoon.
The win, which snapped a three-game slide, improved the Scarlet Knights to 10-14 on the season.

- Freshman Payton Lincavage collected three RBI and scored the go-ahead run with a stolen base.
- Fellow rookie Taylor Fawcett, sophomore Katie Wingert and graduate student Gabrielle Callaway each had two hits apiece.
- Sophomore Corah Price picked up the win in the circle to improve to 3-6 allowing only one run and striking out three.
- Freshman Jaden Vickers earned her first career save hurling the final 2.2 innings with three strikeouts as well.
- Pirate Baylee Alexander put the home team in front with a two-run home run to left in the first inning and Seton Hall took a 3-0 lead the following inning on an RBI single from Hailey Arteaga.
- Rutgers cut into the lead in the top the of third. Payton Lincavage hit the ball off the Pirate pitcher's glove and even though second base picked up the ball to make the play at first, Aleah Marra was able to score as RU trailed 3-1.
- After sending Seton Hall down in order in the fourth, including Corah Price striking out a pair of Pirates looking, Rutgers rallied for four runs on five hits to take the lead in the top of the fifth. Gabrielle Callaway doubled off the left field fence scoring Kiersten Withstandley to pull the Scarlet Knights within a run at 3-2. Lincavage at the next at-bat with two on base found a gap in right center to score Callaway and Taylor Fawcett to knot the score at 4-4.
- Lincavage took second as the centerfielder bobbled the ball on her hit and advanced to third off a single up the middle by Kiana Workman. The rookie then put the Scarlet Knights in front stealing home.
- Payton Lincavage tied her season-high with her trio of runs batted in also recording three RBI in last weekend's 9-8 setback to Marshall. She has a team-leading 13 RBI, registering nine over the last five games. The freshman has had three multiple RBI games to-date.
- Gabrielle Callaway's on-base streak upped to 20-straight games, which included a double in Tuesday's win.
- Taylor Fawcett score her team-leading 15th run and has been responsible for a run in four of RU's last five games.
The Rutgers softball team is schedule to play in the Purple-Gold Invitational hosted by ECU this weekend.
