
Maeve Rossi Earns 2020 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award

Sophomore appeared in eight tournaments during 2019-20 campaign
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Maeve Rossi of Rutgers women's golf was named a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient, the conference announced this week. A second-year sophomore from Milan, Italy, Rossi played in eight tournaments and 23 rounds this past season under head coach Kari Williams.
Rossi finished her second season "On the Banks" with a 76.26 scoring average, two top-20 finishes and a top-10 finish at Washington's Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational during the fall. At the Edean Ihlanfeldt invite, Rossi shot a 75-76 to close out the tournament tied for ninth. Rossi also opened the season with a 226 (76-72-78) to finish T-19 at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational during her impressive campaign.
As a rookie in 2018-19, her scoring average of 75.20 was the best ever for a Rutgers freshman. An economics major, Rossi was also named a 2018-19 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division I All-America Scholar. Prior to her arrival "On the Banks", Rossi was a three-year member of the Italian National Team.
In two seasons, Rossi has appeared in 19 tournaments with 53 rounds played. She has carded seven career top-20 finishes, three top-10 results and a top-5 scorecard as a Scarlet Knight.
