Tennis Welcomes Maryland for Dual Match Saturday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis a three-match homestand by welcoming Maryland on Saturday, Feb. 27. Start time Is set for 2 p.m. ET at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.
Rutgers is coming off two home matches with Penn State and No. 8 Ohio State last weekend. The Scarlet Knights battled in a tightly contested 4-3 battle with the Nittany Lions, falling just short despite singles wins from junior Sydney Kaplan, and freshmen Chloe Brown and Alisa Prinyarux.
All three freshmen entered the lineups again for the Scarlet Knights in the match with the nationally-ranked Buckeyes. Freshman Chloe Brown appeared in singles for her fourth straight match, while classmate Daira Cardenas made her second dual singles appearance. Alisa Prinyarux competed in doubles in her fourth straight dual match.
For the second time this season, Rutgers and Maryland will meet on the court. The teams started off the season with a one-day tournament on Feb. 5, competing in two rounds of doubles and one round of singles. RU claimed two doubles victories and four singles wins in the outing.
All events at Rutgers Athletics venues for the 2020-21 competition year will operate in accordance with current statewide restrictions on indoor and outdoor public gatherings. Access to events will be limited to athletes, coaches, trainers and other necessary game day personnel. As a result, tennis matches will not be open to the public this season.
