Women's Golf Readies for Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's golf continues its spring season at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The three-round, 54-hole tournament will be played on the Pinehurst No. 6 course, a par 72 venue.

Graduate student Manon Tounalom came in under par during her final 18 holes and Rutgers women's golf carded its lowest round of the tournament as the Scarlet Knights finished play at the Pinetree Invitational on last Tuesday in Kennesaw, Georgia. Sophomore Anna-Maria Diederichs tied for 11th to lead RU in the 62-player field.
Rutgers finished ninth in the 10-team field with a 911 (313-300-298). No. 5 Florida State won the team title with its two-under-par 862 ((291-284-306), followed by host Kennesaw State (+23) and East Tennessee State (+28). Florida State's Beatrice Wallin earned individual honors with her four-under-par 212 (74-65-73).
Diederichs was named Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week after her tied-for-11th result.

Rutgers will compete with Seton Hall and St. John's on Saturday, April 3 at the Bayonne Golf Club. RU's next stroke-play event will be April 17-18 at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington.
