PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers softball team closed out the Iowa series on Sunday afternoon with the visiting Hawkeyes taking an 8-0 victory at the RU Softball Complex.
Iowa's Allison Doocy threw a no-hitter while the Hawkeye offense totaled eight hits.

- Klosterman led off the game with a solo home run and the visitors added another three runs in the second off a pair of walks and three consecutive hits from the bats of Sammy Diaz, Brylee Klosterman and Riley Sheey.
- Iowa took advantage of Scarlet Knight miscues in the fourth. Marissa Peek dropped in a double to right for two runs and Iowa garnered another off an overthrow in trying to stop the Hawkeyes from advancing further. Peek was then able to sneak in off third off as the ball escaped behind third base.
- Sophomore Kiersten Withstandley led the Scarlet Knights during the series hitting 4-for-10 with a run.
- Classmate Payton Lincavage batted four runs in and scored twice over the four-games. On Sunday, her hit streak was halted at eight.
- Graduate student Kiana Workman hit .364 against the Hawkeyes, including a double, and three RBIs.
- Fifth-year senior Anyssa Iliopoulos was responsible for three RU runs during the weekend.
The Rutgers softball team is back at the RU Softball Complex next week to host Maryland in their home series finale beginning Friday, May 7 with the Scarlet Knight seniors being honors following the doubleheader on Saturday, May 8.
