MADISON, Wis. – Rutgers women's golf finished the first round of the Badger Invitational on Sunday in Madison, Wisconsin. Sophomore
Rikke Nordvik is tied for 44th to lead the Scarlet Knights in the highly competitive field, which features four Big Ten programs.
With two rounds left to play, RU is 12th place. Host Wisconsin leads the tournament with its five-under-par 283, followed by Grand Canyon (+3) and SMU (+3). Iowa's Paula Miranda is atop the leaderboard with her five-under-par 67.
Nordvik rolled in 13 pars to finish Sunday with a five-over-par 77. Junior
Sun Hwang also closed out the opening round within the top 50 with her six-over-par 78, tied for 48th. Classmate
Leigha Devine is tied for 55th (79), followed by senior
Maeve Rossi, who is 69th (83).
Rookie
Lucrezia Rossettin and junior
Nicole Ewing (individual) both withdrew from Sunday's first round.
Monday's second round begins at 10 a.m. ET, with Rutgers set to tee off beginning at 10:50 a.m. ET.
