Football Drops Road Contest to No. 3 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rutgers football (3-2, 0-2) fell at No. 3 Ohio State (5-0, 2-0), 49-10, on Saturday at Ohio Stadium.
 
WR Sean Ryan caught his first touchdown as a Scarlet Knight, while DB Avery Young recorded his first interception of the season.

On offense, RB Samuel Brown V set career highs with 15 carries for 79 yards. Defensively, LB Tyreem Powell picked up his third sack of the season and DB Christian Braswell posted eight tackles.
 
FIRST HALF
For the second straight game, Rutgers jumped out to a quick lead. DB Max Melton jumped on a muffed punt to give the Scarlet Knights the ball in the red zone, setting up a 14-yard touchdown pass from QB Evan Simon to Ryan. It was the fourth touchdown pass of the season for Simon. 

The Buckeyes responded with four straight unanswered touchdowns, taking a 28-7 lead at halftime. 
                                             
SECOND HALF
RU came out strong in the second half, as Young intercepted C.J. Stroud on the first offensive play of the half, returning it inside OSU territory. The Scarlet Knights got right back on the scoreboard with a 35-yard field goal by PK Jude McAtamney, who has now made a field goal in all five games this season. 

The Buckeyes would extend their lead as the game progressed, scoring a trio of touchdowns to jump back out to a 49-10 lead, a scoreline that would ultimately hold up as the final mark.
