Rutgers opened the dual with three consecutive wins, which included a 11-2 major decision from Peterson over No. 30 Nico Provo, a 4-3 win by No. 18
Joe Heilmann (133) against No. 33 Jackson Disario and a dominant 17-6 major decision from Alvarez over Jason Miranda.
Stanford rattled off four straight wins to take its only lead of the dual at 12-11 through 174 pounds, but Soldano all but locked up the dual thanks to his first-period fall of Brooks Byers. Soldano's fourth consecutive bonus-point victory made it 17-12 Scarlet Knights, as a decision from
Boone McDermott (HWT) over Seamus O'Malley secured RU's third dual win of the season.
