COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Rutgers football (4-8, 1-8) dropped the 2022 finale at Maryland (7-5, 4-5) by a score of 37-0 Saturday at SECU Stadium.
On the defensive end, LB
Deion Jennings registered 12 tackles with three for loss, a sack and two pass breakups. It was his fourth game of the season with double-digit stops. DL
Mayan Ahanotu also contributed two sacks and DB
Christian Braswell broke up four passes.

The Rutgers defense started strong, with DB
Desmond Igbinosun forcing a fumble that DL
Wesley Bailey recovered. After forcing a Maryland punt on the next possession, DL
Ifeanyi Maijeh then forced another fumble, which Bailey also recovered.Â
The Scarlet Knights were unable to turn those turnovers into points, and the Terrapins took a 17-0 lead into halftime.Â

Maryland scored another 20 points in the second half to secure the victory.

- P Adam Korsak tied the program record with his 58th game played for the Scarlet Knights.
- DB Avery Young posted eight tackles to finish with 326, 10th-most in program history.
- DB Christian Izien became the 14th player in Rutgers history to reach 300 career tackles (303).
- DL Wesley Bailey became the first Scarlet Knight with multiple fumble recoveries in a game since Izien in 2020 versus Nebraska.
