Badawi Leads Tennis at First Day of Dartmouth's Big Green Tournament

HANOVER, N.H. ā The Rutgers women's tennis team completed the first day of action at Dartmouth's Big Green Tournament. Ā
The team collected three doubles wins in addition to three singles wins against opponents from Yale, Dartmouth and UMass. Ā

Amira Badawi started off the tournament on a high note, going 2-0 in doubles play with partners Daira Cardenas and Chloe Brown. Her and Cardenas defeated their opponent from Yale (6-2) before earning a win over UMass with Brown (7-5). Ā
The newcomer doubles duo of Tara Chilton Mai Nguyen also continued their success together in the fall, with a win over UMass, 6-4. Ā
SinglesĀ
Jackeline Lopez began the event with yet another singles win defeating her opposition from UMass in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Ā
Badawi earned her third overall victory of the day also over UMass, battlingĀ back in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 10-8). Ā
Finally to round out the group, Brown got the dominant win over Dartmouth, 6-1, 6-1.Ā
