
Pre-Seeds Announced for 2022 Big Ten Wrestling Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Big Ten Conference announced its preliminary seeding for the 2022 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, scheduled for March 5-6 in Lincoln, Nebraska. These seeds will be confirmed and finalized in bracket form by league coaches on Friday, March 4 prior to the start of the tournament. The pre-seeds, as voted on by the conference's coaches, rank 14 starters in all 10 weight classes.
No. 3-seed Sebastian Rivera (141), No. 6-seed Michael VanBrill (149), No. 7-seed John Poznanski (184), No. 7-seed Greg Bulsak (197), No. 8-seed Joseph Olivieri (133) and No. 8-seed Robert Kanniard (157) all received top-eight seeds ahead of the conference tournament.
To automatically qualify for the 2022 NCAA Championships from March 17-19 in Detroit, each Scarlet Knight will have to finish within the threshold listed at his weight. The Big Ten leads the country with 88 of the total 287 automatic bids on the table, with a total conference breakdown below.
