EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Rutgers tennis defeated Drexel by a score of 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the East Brunswick Racquet Club. The Scarlet Knights claimed the team doubles point and five singles for the win.

The duo of sophomores
Chloe Brown and
Daira Cardenas earned a strong, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot to start things off. Senior
Sydney Kaplan and freshman
Jackeline Lopez secured a 6-4 victory at the No. 3 spot to capture a 1-0 advantage for RU.

Kaplan posted the first singles victory of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 3 spot. Freshman
Minchae Kim followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot.
At the No. 2 spot, Lopez added a 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the match for the Scarlet Knights. Sophomore Alisa Prinyaruz rallied a 7-6 (2), 6-0 win at the No. 5 spot for a 5-0 RU edge.
Senior
Tess Fisher came back from a first set setback to win her match at the No. 1 spot by a score of 1-6, 7-5, 10-5.

Rutgers remains home to host St. John's on Sunday, February 6. Match time is set for 3 p.m. ET at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.
